Spanish in Majorca - Cala Ratjada

Cala Rajada is a former fishing village in the northeast of Majorca and administratively part of Capdepera. Cala Rajada has only been covered to a limited extent by the construction boom that spread in the course of tourism on the island. This has given the town centre the character of a historic fishing village with a harbour. Cala Ratjada is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and has 5 dream beaches. First the bay of Sa Font de sa Cala, 2 km away, then the small but fine beach of Son Moll in the town centre, which enjoys great popularity and the two bays of Cala Agulla (Guya) and Cala Mesquida stretching hundreds of meters.

The harbor is one of the most beautiful points of the place. Here are the typical fishing boats of the Balearic Islands, as well as motor yachts and sports sailors. From here you can book sailing trips, there are Glassbottom boat trips and you can reach the neighboring island of Menorca in 75 minutes by speedboat. In the immediate vicinity is the large seaside promenade with a variety of bars and restaurants. . The lighthouse of Cala Rajade is located at the easternmost point of Mallorca. It is worth a visit: it offers a beautiful view of the town and the coastal landscape with Cap Vermell in the south and Cap des Freu in the north.

Capdepera is dominated by a medieval castle and is located a few kilometres inland in a beautiful hilly pine landscape.
