Our history

Unusual foundation:

The former major bank Schweizer Bankverein invested a great deal in internal training, including language training. However, the language department was dissolved in 1996. A handful of teachers suggested taking over the outsourced department. A small group centred around Edit Adrover (the current owner) then founded Flying Teachers.

Tough & instructive early years:

Positioning a new language school was not easy at all. But that didn't stop us from realising our vision. We had to learn the marketing trade very quickly. We learnt how to produce our own good and affordable teaching materials. Found suitable, easily accessible course rooms. Learned how to convince well-known potential customers of the quality of our services. And we looked for and found above-average qualified language teachers who were motivated to work at different locations and at unusual times. During these years, we developed successful principles to which we have remained true to this day.
